The Art Show currently on display at Kent Karras Chiropractor, and presented by Art by Kami, is a family affair. The three featured artists, Anna Van Fleet, her sister Kate Borders and Kate’s husband Braniff Borders are family, but their individual styles are unique and striking.
Anna has a beautiful classic style, creating environmental, portrait and still-life pieces that would be at home in a museum of classic art as they would in the homes of the discriminating collector. She likes bold colors and contrasts, and says that “Art should have some volume”. You can see that sentiment in her work.
Kate has a modern style, but still has a classic feel that is fantastical and fanciful. You can tell she looks for beauty in the world and translates it into her work. Hers is a gentle touch that comes across as delicate and self-assured.
Braniff Borders is a modern artist, taking cues, themes and symbolism from modern culture. He says he finds “many inspirations” for his art, “but the main ones are family and legends.” His work is bold and expressive and has a lingering impact.
Underlying all three styles is a quality of work that everyone can appreciate. So, after deciding which one of the three styles suits you, your only choice is which one of these fantastic pieces you are going to take home.
The Art Show exhibition will be on display until October 6th, 2016. For information on purchasing any of the artwork email firstname.lastname@example.org.
